The War That Changed Us to screen on ABC on Tuesday, August 19 ABC will air The War That Changed Us by Fremantle-based production company Electric Pictures next month as part of the centenary of World War One. Culture and the Arts Minister John Day congratulated the production company on their achievement. “I congratulate Electric Pictures on bringing a nationally funded project to Western Australia and for creating this powerful four-part series,” Mr Day said. “The War That Changed Us was filmed within a 20 kilometre radius of Perth including Cottesloe Civic Centre, Midland Town Hall, Whiteman Park and Woodman Point. It is fascinating to see parts of this State transformed into diverse backdrops for television shows and films like this. “Productions like The War That Changed Us highlight what is possible with Western Australia’s locations, and the imagination of the local screen industry. “I encourage everyone to watch the series when it begins to screen on ABC on August 19.” The Minister also acknowledged Electric Pictures CEO and executive producer Andrew Ogilvie who was presented with the ScreenWest Significant Contribution to the Industry Award at the 26th Western Australian Screen Awards last week. The War That Changed Us follows the story of six Australians in an epic story of Australia and the First World War. A foot soldier, a general, a nurse, a militant anti-war activist, a peace campaigner and a pro-war crusader journey through conflict on the battlefront and at home. Their stories are brought to life through a blend of personal testimony, dramatic reconstruction, expert analysis, location filming and colourised archive. abc.net.au/news/2014-05-09/the-war-that-changed-us/5442878
