The West Point - The U.S. Military Academy Band will present a trumpet and organ performance on Thursday, October 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Church in New York City. The church is located on Broadway at Wall Street in lower Manhattan. The West Point Bands Staff Sergeant Bill Owens will perform on trumpet and Mr. Craig Williams of the Cadet Chapel, West Point will perform on organ. The program will be comprised of early music and will showcase how both military musicians and civilian musicians support the United States Corps of Cadets. This concert is free and open to the public and will be broadcast live at trinitywallstreet.org. Staff Sgt. Owens and Mr. Williams have selected an exciting program of early music for trumpet and organ. Selections include Toccata all’ Offertorio by Domenico Zipoli, The King’s Hunting Jigg by John Bull, Pièce d’Orgue by Bach, and Handel’s Suite in D. Also on the program is a collection of Giles Farnaby keyboard music arranged by Staff Sgt. Owens. In addition to demonstrating the musical support military personnel and civilians provide to the Corps of Cadets, the history of the spectacular West Point Cadet Chapel and its musical role will be explored in what promises to be an informative and entertaining afternoon of music. https://facebook/events/679983008784198/
