The Who is among the guest performers that will appear on the upcoming fourth edition of the fundraising telecast Stand Up to Cancer, which will air this Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on numerous TV networks, including ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, Bravo, E!, HBO, Showtime and VH1. While the show is still two days away, the British rock legends have revealed what they will play on the special. A report on the bands official website reveals that The Whos Stand Up for Cancer performance actually was taped on Tuesday night at the Porchester Club in the Bayswater section of London, in front of an intimate crowd featuring members of the groups fan club. According to the article, The Who played a medley featuring Baba ORiley and the Tommy piece See Me, Feel Me/Listening to You, and the performance will be shown during the closing part of the telecast. Who singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshend were accompanied by all the members of their touring band, as well as more than a dozen backing singers, among them longtime Who collaborator Billy Nichols. The group ran through the medley three times. During the mini-show, a neon baton specially created by the Siemens electronics company was passed around the audience that registered one dollar for each time someone touched it. Siemens plans to donate that total amount to Stand Up to Cancer. Meanwhile, a bevy of celebrities have been added to the list of stars that will appear on the hour-long fundraiser, including Dave Grohl, Robert Downey Jr., Kevin Bacon, Melissa McCarthy, Steve Carell, Sofia Vergara, Tony Goldwyn, Mira Sorvino and Charlie Wilson, among others. They join previously announced participants Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry, Jon Hamm, Rob Lowe, Keifer Sutherland, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, Eric Stonestreet, Jennifer Aniston and Mark Harmon. Besides The Who, Dave Matthews Band, Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande, Lupe Fiasco and Common will perform. In addition to airing on many television networks, the Stand Up to Cancer special will stream live on both Hulu and Yahoo.
