The Wounded Warrior Project is a wonderful charity organization based in Jacksonville, Florida that has made a major impact on the lives of many American heroes. However, every time I see a commercial with Trace Atkins asking for a contribution, I get offended that the WWP has a need to even exist. The federal government has a moral obligation to take care of its wounded combat veterans no matter the costs. Injured veterans should not have to beg for charitable donations on television. Cost to take care of our vets should not be an issue. Before the government cares about food stamps or farm subsidies or tax breaks for big oil, we need to take care of those who sacrificed for our country. I dont care if that means we need to cut spending elsewhere, raise taxes, or pad the national debt. Veterans come first. Period.
