The Yes Scotland campaign has admitted commissioning and paying - TopicsExpress

The Yes Scotland campaign has admitted commissioning and paying for an article by a constitutional expert that appeared in a Glasgow-based newspaper. Opponents said the disclosure “fatally undermined” trust in the independence campaign, while the pro-independence group insisted it was “relaxed and transparent” about the matter. It paid a fee to Elliot Bulmer, of the Constitutional Commission, for an opinion piece on the importance of a written constitution in an independent Scotland. The article appeared in The Herald last Tuesday, and was quickly praised by SNP and Yes Scotland figures on Twitter. Blair Jenkins, chief executive of the campaign, described it as a “brilliant must read”. telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/scotland/scottish-politics/10258486/Independence-campaign-admits-it-paid-academic-to-write-newspaper-article.html
