The Young African Leaders Initiative has appealed to PF decision makers to consider Acting Republican President Dr. Guy Scott for the presidency if he applies to stand. YALI Governance Advisor Isaac Mwanza says Dr. Scott’s application must be given an equal chance irrespective of his colour because Article 34 of the Constitution qualifies him to stand as Republican President. Mr. Mwanza said it will be a sad state for Zambia’s democracy if discrimination against any of its fellow citizens is exercised on grounds of race, tribe, origin or gender. He has since urged the PF Central Committee and all political parties to consider all their members equally in selecting their candidates for the forthcoming presidential by-election.
