The apocalypse is near. Just happened to notice that there is a lot more toilet paper spindle visible than in the past. So, I measured it. The spindle, installed when the house was built 21 years ago, is 5 1/4 inches long. The diminished roll is only 3 7/8 inches wide. That leaves 1 3/8 inches of spindle unused. Now, I dont really know how wide a roll was in 93, but lets use an even five inches, to allow for some spin space. That means that todays rolls are 1 1/8 inches narrower than 21 years ago. At that rate, in 63 years, the term butt floss will have an all together new meaning. Glad Ill be dead when the time comes.
