The argument made is that a grass fed label does not necessarily mean that the beef has the virtues that you might wish. In the end you need to know your grass farmer rather than just rely on a label. The complaint made is that this should not be necessary, that a label alone should be sufficient if there were sufficiently stringent regulations, blah, blah, blah. This is a fantasy, and not even a very nice fantasy. Whats so bad about knowing your farmer and holding his nose to the stone about what you want and taking your business elsewhere if not satisfied? Whats so bad about being an informed shopper? Lets face it: if we want a better world we each have to be vigilant and keep one another honest.
