The article is a bit long, but a good and insightful read. oxygen: September 4, 2013 at 11:53 pm (Quote) @ street economist: September 4, 2013 at 9:49 pm ANOTHER WARNING SIGN that governance completely ignored is food costs. Most heavily populated countries won’t have food for export, And of those exporting, China is quietly buying over them one by one from USA to Israel. Here are two recent ones. reuters/article/2013/09/03/us-starboard-smithfield-letter-idUSBRE9820QM20130903 and this one reuters/article/2013/09/03/us-brightfood-tnuva-idUSBRE9820L220130903 With 6.9 million or more on this island, and a lot of unemployment and/or underemployment, even the employed in the heartlands will be struggling hand to mouth. I can only see a lot of beggars and deaths from starvation forward. Crime rates will shot up, streets no longer safe. This is a failed governance. We have to move on, leaving them behind. As you say, “fight or flight”, we must fight in 2016 if we want to secure our economic survival and future generations. It is either us or them, so better it be for us to get rid of them.
