The attitude towards thanksgiving. On a certain day, i happened to listen to the prayer made by some people thank God im not dead like my mates. I felt something move within me as i heard that and the spirit of God took my memory to a scripture that is hardly preached in churches anymore. In luke 18:10, we have a pharisee and a tax collector. The pharisees prayer goes like this: God i thank you because im not like other men. Unfortunately many of us have picked up that same mindset. When you see people hungry on the street you say thank God im not hungry. That is not thanksgiving, it is MOCKERY. You are unconsciously making fun of the person in such a predicament. Genuine thanksgiving doesnt look or compare itself with the situation of others. It looks at its own wretchedness and how the wretchedness is overlooked by someone who should judge you by it. Must you see a blind man before you thank God for sight, or must you see a lame man before thanking God for functional legs and feet? Still in the spirit of thanksgiving but lets do it right. God bless
