The awkwardness that is my life continues! As Im walking to my car to leave for my hair appt., I see the cute Navy guy who parks in the spot next time mine leaning over my hood taking pictures with his phone. Of course my first thoughts are, oh shit, have I broken some parking garage policy and this guy is capturing evidence to turn me in?! The guy realizes Im standing there and immediately gets that busted look on his face, and says, Oh hey. Sorry. I was just taking a picture of your pet. In my mind Im thinking, I dont have a pet you weirdo. You are definitely less attractive now. Realizing Im quite confused - probably by my blank expression - he goes on to explain there is a 4 inch grasshopper chilling on my windshield and its the biggest one hes ever seen out here (his license plate indicates hes from Colorado). Then he points out the behemoth creature, comments about how its just chilling and chuckles (and yep, his attractiveness is restored). I literally have no words and all I can say is, Im sorry my windshield is dirty for your pictures. My car needs a bath Yes ladies and gentleman, that was my big, flirty line. For two weeks Ive passed by this guy to/from work and have thought hes cute. Some mutated grasshopper finally brings us together and thats the most clever thing I could think of to say! At least the guy was polite enough to laugh and say his truck was dirtier. And we wonder why Im still single?!? Oy!
