The blood of Jesus saves us from both the guilt AND the power of sin. When a person repents of their sins and believes on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and obeys his word, they can live an upright life. They are saved. There is no "purgatory" -- the word "purgatory" is not even in the Bible. The blood of Jesus saves his people. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God who was slain for our transgressions. He died as the propitiation for our sins. He was punished in our place. He was the only one qualified to die for us because he is perfect and lived on this earth without sin, the perfect man and God manifested in the flesh. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He took on a body and shed his blood for us, for our sins and transgressions. God knew that we are helpless and beset by sins, but he did not give up on us. He made a way for us to be saved from our sins. There is only ONE way to be saved, and that is through the blood of Jesus and nobody else.
