The book of Joshua, was written by Joshua himself it consist of 24 Chapters. Joshua is a book of Hope story of conquest and fulfilment of the people of God. Phrases in the first two paragraphs of Joshua hint the tone to follow I will never leave you nor forsake you, God promised. I will give you every place where you set foot. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you. . . that you may be successful wherever you go. Fast-paced battle action appears in chapters 1-11 the book of war. The later chapters, the book of distribution, mostly concern the parceling of the land. As you read Joshua, keep two major themes in mind: Joshuas leadership and Gods direct involvement in history. Study Joshuas life as an example of leadership. What were the reasons behind his few failures, such as those recorded in chapter 7 and 9?
