The brisk snap of the salute on command and you feel it. The swelling of pride in your throat as you watch this vibrant material rise up the pole and you realize what it means the sacrifice, the unity and the common drive to exist as one nation with many voices. We’re not without our problems Ill freely admit, but the moment that the wind kisses that wonderful symbol and you see her unfurl her muscle as she flexes proudly like a bird of prey ever watchful of its turf. You can’t help but be filled with sheer pride of sprit of what this “ole girl” stands for or at least I can’t. The battles she’s led, the tears she’s shed, yet the strength still shines through her weathered face of history. Today as you stand alone in your booth remember what this day is all about you are not just putting a mark on a piece of paper you are restating a declaration of war of “we the people” who are deciding our future.
