The brisk wind that brushed against Castiel’s cheek sent a small shiver down his spine but he didn’t care his mind was in other places. Just relax, she can keep the secret she might be a lot of things but she isn’t dumb. Castiel glanced down towards Candy as she kept up with his pace in silence. Castiel’s mind went over what happened that night; playing over and over back in his mind like a movie. A faint smile spread across Castiel’s face remembering Candy scared but determined to prove herself right as she nearly blinded Castiel in the process with the damn flash on her camera. She’s resourceful I’ll give her that. Castiel chuckled as he ran a hand through his hair with an exhausted huff, he was tired; staying up all night working on the new songs while being on a diet of microwave dinner’s, energy drinks and fast food wasn’t exactly energizing. Castiel was snapped out of his thoughts when he felt a small bump against his side, startled he looked down, only to meet Candy’s eyes for a brief second before the pair— in unison —adverted their gaze. Sorry Candy mumbled as she fidgeted with one of the ribbons on her shirt. It was too dark out so Castiel couldn’t make out what was written on it, but it looked good on her, that Castiel knew for sure. Pff. I know its hard to contain yourself, but try not to jump all over me yeah? Castiel teased, he could feel the smirk growing wider with each passing second. The jab to his stomach came hard and fast, from Candy. Shut up. Your not as popular with the girls as you think. Candy shot back, Castiel could practically hear the smart-ass smirk that Candy was sporting in the near dark. Yeah sure you’re just trying to will away the competition. Ha! You wish. Castiel forced a dismissive chuckle while running a hand through his hair trying to hide the faint blush creeping along his cheeks. Do I wish for that? Castiel glanced down at Candy again, where his hand unknowingly reached out for Candy’s, brushing the tips of his fingers against the back of her palm. The sudden touch startled the both of them, Shit. Covering up, Castiel quickly grabbed for Candy’s wrist. Cas— Common, your a slow walker and its getting cold out here. Castiel quickly spat out before quickening his pace. They walked a little further in compete silence, all the while Castiel’s heart was beating rapidly against his rib cage, never mind the blush Castiel could feel taking over the rest of his face or the knots that he was feeling in his stomach. Slowly becoming aware of how tiny Candy’s wrist felt in his hand, nervous he was hurting her Castiel hand slipped down Candy’s wrist to her palm. Gently forcing her fingers open with his own Castiel slipped his hand in and took a hold of her hand, which was also extremely small but it sure as hell was more comfortable than simply holding onto her wrist. For the rest of the walk Castiel caught himself a few times gently rubbing his thumb against the back of her hand, cursing himself under his breath as his cheeks flared up in a bright red over and over, quickly glancing towards Candy seeing if she noticed, the knot in his stomach getting worse each time. It had been a long while since he felt like this about anyone and it shocked him more than anything; for months Castiel told himself he wouldn’t be able to find anyone else to peak his interest after her, but here he was and Castiel had no idea on what to do about it.
