The case of the Shīī scholar, Nimr Bāqir al-Nimr, who is - TopicsExpress

The case of the Shīī scholar, Nimr Bāqir al-Nimr, who is scheduled to be publicly executed by the corrupt kingdom of Saūd after having been detained for two years simply for organizing peaceful protests against the state, is reminiscent of the case of Hujr b. Adī (a companion of the Prophet) who was beheaded on the order of the tyrannical monarch, Muāwiya b. Abī Sufyān. Hujr b. Adīs only crime was his vocal opposition to the state cursing of Imām Alī b. Abī Tālib on the pulpits that was present in his time. He was falsely accused for inciting a rebellion against the caliph and on such a pretext, murdered. The particulars may vary but the conclusion remains the same in both cases. The kingdom of Saūds judicial system and modus operandi is almost entirely modeled, evidently, not on the sacred law of Allāh but on the Umayyad monarchy, and which is why the sooner it is overthrown the better it is for Muslims at large. To publicly execute anybody for dissent is the peak of tyranny and a state which does so is no doubt worthy of being cursed by Allāh and His Angels. May Allāh protect Shaykh al-Nimr and all those being wrongfully held as prisoners in the God-forsaken kingdom of Saūd
