The choices we’ve made in the past and our actions and reactions to prior events have made impressions in the mind which remain as memories. Some memories are neutral. Other memories may have good constructive influences and some can cause discomfort. If memories are inclined to allow addictive or self-defeating behavior, they can be resisted or neutralized by will power, positive thinking, meditation practice and intentional living. Destructive subconscious drives can be replaced by constructive inclinations. Many of the problems and troublesome situations people have are the result of self-centered, negative thinking which is intentionally nurtured or allowed to prevail, all of which can be improved by decisive choices and constructive actions.
