The commuter plan for Pawtucket offers great future value to all creative industry endeavors that develop over the next 6-8 years, but short term will have no immediate impact. Surrounding large scale mill redevelopment over those years will only add impact as to why this transportation hub is needed. Since those projects take years, the new station adds to their vision for tomorrow. The ongoing River Corridor projects and upgrades will add to the esthetic beauty of the downtown campus and in time will add greater access to the great river front both by bike and trail walking. A more narrowly focused, and short term, potentially obtainable set of prints were on display for discussion. They speak of 6 to 8 changes that will enhance the area and create a better gateway presentation, that will assist in long term larger investment into the downtown. Our position is that into these pretty plans a conversation about how to create great vitality and active daily life that will in turn fuel micro business development within the River Rocket campus area is needed.
