The complexity of spastic forms of cerebral palsy surprises - TopicsExpress

The complexity of spastic forms of cerebral palsy surprises researchers and a tenured orthopedic surgeon who actively treats people with cerebral palsy: Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Yngve from The University of Texas, investigated how spasticity impacts function in cerebral palsy. He thought that spasticity would be directly related to function but that was not the case! He presented his findings in recent years at the AACPDM and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons annual meetings. Last week his findings were shared with me and he gave me permission to share them with all of you. In his own words Dr. Yngve discusses his study: Spasticity is one of several issues that can affect children with cerebral palsy.
