The current score is Bear-2, Jevon-0. I am now an advocate of using dogs for bear hunting as, by nature, it seems they are overjoyed in highlighting the fact that a pitch black, nearly silent creature with claws is patiently waiting to ransack my goddamn chicken coop and is lurking nearby. With that said, bears should also be deathly scared of all barking creatures- due to hunting dogs instilling the general image of Death tirelessly chasing them down. As it looks, this bear took extra time to turn the big latch on the door, proceeded to open it, then carried the feeder off into the woods while trampling the wire mesh outwards. Not that I could see the beast unless I could determine which black is blackest against the already black background. Anyhow, I stood with a LED flood light, with rifle in hand, (not a very safe juggle), fed mosquitoes, thought about how screwed I would be if the bear used the sound of decelerating Mack trucks to mask their movement in order to eventually be within swiping or chomping distance and I envisioned a solution to this: thermal vision or, even better, an auto turret.
