The days are getting hotter! What does this mean to us breastfeeding moms? Your breastmilk will look more diluted. It is natures way of ensuring your babys thirst is quench and kept hydrated on the hot days. What do you need to do as a BF mom? Drink more water or any form of liquid throughout the day. Staying hydrated yourself ensures your body will continue to produce enough supply for baby. When you are dehydrated, supply will drop. And there is no need to worry about the diluted breastmilk. It doesnt mean your milk is dropping in nutrition, it just means it has higher level of water level to combat these hot days. Thats the beauty of breastmilk! It is capable of changing its composition to suit babys needs. Hows that for awesome!
