The declining health of his ailing father, who is on the top of a liver transplant waiting list, has been saddening one of our regulars, Jack, in recent weeks. On top of that, since he is the only one of his relatives who is available to look after his father, Jack may have to pass on a big promotion in order to take care of his father after surgery. A few days ago, Jack helped a father-daughter pair of newcomers order while he was waiting for his drink. Out of the blue, Jack asked the father if he was an organ donor. “Yes, I am,” replied the man, confused. Jack then explained to him that his father had just gotten a successful liver transplant the day before, and that he is grateful for the kindness of all organ donors. Turning to us, Jack declared, “I’m buying him a drink!” Jack later told us that he had decided earlier that morning to show his gratitude in some way, but hadn’t found a good opportunity until just then. We’re glad that InsaniTea gave him a platform for this kind act and, of course, Jack’s drink was on the house.
