The devil has enough advocates today. This is a powerful and heartfelt piece. Ive been getting a little more education this weekend in the uselessness of the not all men response, reminded of the likelihood of women who speak out on the internet getting death and rape threats, reminded of how women get blamed for getting raped or assaulted - why were you there that late at night? were you drunk? why did you wear that skirt? - so this thought isnt directly inspired by this piece. But here it is: Theres no really neutral position. Misogynists of course cant hear women tell them that theyre wrong; their only chance of hearing that not everybody who counts (by their standards) agrees with them is for men to do it. Men who dont call out misogyny when they see/hear it are therefore part of the problem.
