The “enhanced interrogation techniques” – i.e. torture – are not a product of 9/11. The “extraordinary renditions” program had started in the previous decade under the Clinton administration. The techniques employed and perfected by the CIA are also the product of more than a century when the US, France and Britain tested those techniques in their colonial wars, specifically in Vietnam, Kenya and Algeria.
