The essence of TCDA is unity for development, the core essence - TopicsExpress

The essence of TCDA is unity for development, the core essence therefore is UNITY not even development as being presented by letter D in the acronym, for there cannot be any meaningful development without UNITY. Going by the essence of this association, it is clear that anything that has the possibility of affecting our unity as Tangale people must be protected with utmost priority, anything at all including the chairmans personal interest, provided it is not in the General interest of Tangale people. This has made us planned against external attack by some other people for the purpose of protecting our unity. It is sad that the enemy we have always planned for turned out to be we ourselves, not those external forces we thought. We are using TCDA to divide ourselves instead of using it as an instrument of positive change and development for our land and its beautiful people. I woke up this morning with a very sad and funny news of how the national TCDA excos sacked the youth wing excos that were constituted by a legally qualified congress to serve in that capacity on the ground that they were supposed to serve for 6months and must within that period organise an election. Another story is that the chairman failed to conduct a press conference where he is to endorse a particular candidate on behalf of Tangale youth and by implication Tangale people, however, because I am not sure of this story I will like someone to clear me on this please, that notwithstanding it is very sad and funny as well. Now, these are my observations concerning the recent happenings. Considering the fact that the care-taker committee was constituted by a legally qualified congress, it is that same congress that has the legal right to remove them not the national executive, the national executive are expected to exercise supervisory function on the TCDA youth Wing and not outright control of the youth wing. It is therefore wrong for the national executive to remove people they didnt put in power in the first place while the congress still exist. On the issue of staying more than 6months which is against the initial plan and something I also feel is wrong of the committee, however, I dont think that removing them from office is the best thing, what I expected the national executives to do is to extend there time in office within which they must conduct an election and not to remove them as if organising election was the only reason for their existence. The care-taker committee were also changed with the responsibility of forming other youth wing chapters which to the best of my knowledge they have substantially complied, save for those few areas that failed to respond to the committees call. No body commended this effort, instead we are interested in removing them for a wrong that can be corrected immediately. Again, assuming but not admitting that the committee has failed, why then are some of the committee members part of the so called new committee? if they failed, I suppose it should be a collective failure. The fact that some members were retained suggest foul play somewhere. Concerning the the chairmans refusal to endorse a particular candidate, I think that is a very beautiful leadership quality there, that is a sign that the chairman is considerate of our political diversity and the fact that the members of this association belong to different political parties and as a result adopting a candidate will make other members angry, after all, TCDA or any association under it, is not a political association or a member of a particular political party. It is an association for unity toward development we need our members to diversify because we dont know where the desired development will come from. Brothers and sisters I take God una, lets tolerate each other, do what is right and focus on taking our people to the promise land. I therefore call on the national executive to please right this wrong, be leaders by example. Our interest is beyond February 2015. God bless us
