The eternal God is thy refuge.—Deuteronomy 33:27. Six - TopicsExpress

The eternal God is thy refuge.—Deuteronomy 33:27. Six words. Rich, deep meaning. The word refuge can be translated as mansion or abiding place and gives the sense that the eternal God is our abode, our home. Truly there is no place like home. Many years ago I married my college sweetheart and we set out to make a home of our own. That home changed locations over the years, but it has always been filled with love, laughter, and living faith. Four children filled our walls and created many wonderful memories I cherish deeply. In many ways our home has been among other things a refuge: a place to retreat from the busy-ness of work, life, and ministry. God was always welcome in our home; indeed He was the reason we established a home in the first place. Three of our children have now moved out, married terrific spouses, and are establishing their own places of refuge. Grandchildren have been added into the mix of family and only prove to add blessing to our lives. Life has had its challenges. Difficulties and sources of stress are things we still contend. Yet, the eternal God is my anchor, my Rock, and refuge. Where ever I happen to pillow my head at night, He is ever my Source of strength and Friend that sticks closer than a brother. Imagine that! The God of creation cares about me that much and He cares for you, too! I hope you have made your abode with Him for truly there is no place like HOME. Amen!
