The ever frustrating daily life of a believer: On Monday I feel like Ive taken several steps forward. Victory! By Friday I feel like Ive taken 20 steps back. Defeat! My life is characterized by backs and fourths, wins and losses, and joys and frustrations. In the midst of my struggle I am reminded of this ever encouraging hope filled verse that helps me press on: Philippians 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. This is Gods promise to me. And no matter what steps are gained or lost, one day, I will be made perfect like my Lord. But until that glorious day comes, I will continue to run the race as best I can, not compulsively, but as one who has been justified by faith, and is led by the Holy Spirit.
