The fact that ANY City of Jacksonville officials would follow a parody account mocking a political candidates religious beliefs and family values is appalling. Tomorrow, I will post NAMES and TITLES of KEY leaders - elected officials, business leaders, journalists, and - get this - REPUBLICAN PARTY Executives on the list of this accounts followers. Be warned - Im starting with the JACKSONVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. He, after all, HAS been warned. My private message to him will be public tomorrow, as Ive gotten neither response nor action. To clarify: I DONT CARE that the account exists. Its part of the game, and a benefit of our First Amendment. And, Im neither shocked nor offended by anything theyve tweeted out - though I am far from amused by their comedy. Im SICK of Christians being called haters for standing on our convictions, while being told to lighten up while they mock us and our values. Im DISGUSTED by the childishness of civic, business, and political leaders who think so little of their own reputations and positions of leadership that they are willing to attach themselves to such bad behavior, thereby giving it legitimacy. Im INSULTED by open-minded leaders who follow such tripe at the same time that they publicly campaign for Diversity and Human Rights, and expect us not to see the hypocrisy. Oh - Id ask the media to do this work...but theyre following the account as well. (And Ill be calling them out, too.) Feel free to share.
