The family bond in my opinion is a most cherished feeling a person can have, but if you choose to be out the loss of this comfort in your life is a good possibility. Many of us have lost family because of the urge to come out and be the person we are, not considering the consequences. Once we realize the negative feelings from family and friends it’s too late to reverse and go back. Our life is set; we deal with it although the hurt lingers in our heart especially during the holidays. We long for the feeling of family togetherness because our love for family never goes away. The pain of rejection sometimes is overwhelming but somehow we get through it. People say we have a new family in the LGBT who care and loves us without conditions, but you know and I know it’s not the same. For those that have family acceptance be thankful, it could have gone the other way. If you can, during the Holidays or anytime for that matter invite a friend to come home with you to enjoy the life they once had. Happy Thanksgiving.
