The film “Central China” will be shown by the Friends of the North Indian River County Library on Thursday, February 13th from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.in the library meeting room. Megan McCormick begins her travels in Shanghai, the Paris of the East, then continues on to Suzhou, “China’s Little Venice,” where she learns how silk is produced. By train she travels to Huangshan Mountain where she climbs most of the 20,000 steps to the top. She travels by ship down the Yangtze River, cutting through the center of China, past the Three Gorges area to Fengdu and Chongqing, the third largest city in China. She ends her trip in Xi’an, the ancient capital of China and the excavation site of the Terra Cotta Warriors. Admission is free and open to the public.
