The first day of school is always full of excitement and energy. I had a chance to talk with parents, teachers, and administrators as I visited five of our school sites. Our sites were very well prepared to welcome the 36,000 students that began the new school year with us. As I walked the campuses, I saw students and teachers celebrating and welcoming each other. I also saw learning taking place. From the tin foil designs at Design 39 Campus to art and literature projects at Stone Ranch Elementary, it was clear that we are off to a great start of the 2014-15 school year.
