The first event of the prestigious Smogon Grand Slam opened its gates to sign-ups three days ago! The Grand Slam is an annual event, focusing on non-OU metagames. This includes Ubers, UnderUsed, RarelyUsed, NeverUsed and Little Cup. Each player has the opportunity to sign-up for each individual tournament, for which sign-ups begin after the first round of the previous one. The first tournament, hosted by Kokoloko and Limitless, focus on the Underused tier, and for this tournament, sign-ups close in 3 days, so you better hurry on over! After the first round of the UU Open is completed, sign-ups will be posted for the RU Open. The tournament is entirely XY in its format. The winner is determined by the user that wins in a best of all formats playoff series. To get into the playoff series, you must rank from 1st-8th in total points amassed throughout the Grand Slam. Points are awarded based on your showing in each individual tournament, and are totaled after all 5 tournaments have been completed.
