The first reason is the intense suffering that the animals who are killed go through. Every single day millions of animals are killed to feed us, and many are subjected to terrible conditions to provide us with food. When you think about it, I would say 99% of the worlds cows, chickens, pigs, etc, are all bred, born, contained, kept alive and overfed in order to feed us. Their existence is meant to sustain us. They dont live a life. Think of The Island with that hottie Ewan McGregor, where clones are farmed in order to be harvested for their organs.
