The first thing is that government must be involved in the resolution of the present situation without interfering in the process. African football cannot survive without government, as time and experience have clearly taught us through the years. Much as the mediocre people might not be able to separate these two, it is actually quite simple and do-able. But the lumbering, ponderous and corrupt system and government that we have and operate quite happily will never be able to see how to navigate through these rather shallow and non-dangerous waters. They prefer to be in the deep and un-rescuable till the bottom drop out.
