The following statement has been posted on the "We Want Tina Turner For Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award Page." Part 1 For those of you who feel that Tina should write a check for 75,000: We are not asking her too. This is something we fans are doing because of what she means to all of us and to preserve her legacy for the world to see here in her home county and my home county of Haywood County, TN. As Laurel says this is about more than Tina. (Read her statement.) "Once completed, the school will highlight African-American early education and the legacy of students who attended there". (Quote from the Heritage Center) "But later on I learned that Flagg Grove was moved, the school I mean, and that is the one that I went to. The school and the land on which it stood belonged to my great grandfather Benjamin Flagg… Now I am involved and that will become even stronger with time, since I know that is has all to do with my background, with my family. And I am very proud that I am the one of my family that can preserve this history." (Quote from Tina in German Vogue) She states she is involved so who is to say what she will do.
