The founder and leader of MQM Mr. Hussain has made a compassionate appeal to Taliban to stop bombing in the country in the name of peace. Stop attacking our officers, soldiers, citizens, public properties and defense installations and consider the talks offer by the government. It will be in the interest of Pakistan and Pakistanis. Mr. Hussain has made an appeal to MQM workers and supporters to confront the ongoing operation in Karachi with forbearance and not to respond to provocations. He expressed these views while giving a comprehensive lecture at the MQM’s International secretariat. The topic of the lecture was ‘National, International economic, social and regional situations’. On this occasion Mr. Hussain responded to the questions of the attendee of the lecture. Senior members of Rabita Committee, Haq Parast members of the parliament and people of other walks of lives attended this session. Mr. Altaf Hussain has made an appeal to Pakistan’s intellectuals, columnists, scholars from all schools of thoughts and people from other fields, especially those related to teaching profession to make an unprejudiced and impartial analysis of national, international political and economic situation and advise us how can we make the security of our country impregnable and fight for our survival; and maintain good relations on equal terms with our neighbours. Mr. Hussain said that the negotiations between the government and the Taliban were the hottest topic in Pakistan nowadays. Some people are in favour of the talks and some people are opposed to the talks with the Taliban. We should not forget in our discussions and debates that Taliban problem has been internationalized. It is no longer a regional problem. The situation demands that rulers, political and religious leaders should demonstrate wisdom and sagacity. They must take decisions with deliberations and consensus. They must make sure that outcome of their decisions should for the better future of Pakistan and the interest of its people. Commenting on the rapidly changing international situation Mr. Hussain said that it was being said that Syria would be attacked. Some analysts were saying that the situation in Syrian could start off the third world war. Can anyone researcher and analyst tell me where did the entire problem vanish all of a sudden? The Middle East’s changing situation, emergence of Russia as an international power, the rise of China and India in Central Asia and their growing influence, deteriorating situation in African countries, the departure of American forces forces in 2014 from Afghanistan. What changes will they bring? It would be very difficult for anyone to predict things on the basis of the changing situation. The need of the hour is that we closely monitor all the objective facts and focus our attention to our nation Pakistan and pay attention to the security and survival of Pakistan and think about strategies for the protection of our people and Pakistan. He said that he would like to make an appeal to Taliban for God’s sake stop bombing in Pakistan and attacking our officers, soldiers, citizens, public properties and defense installations and consider the negotiation offer by the government. The interest of Pakistan and Pakistanis lies in peace agreement. Mr. Hussain said that MQM is democratic and peace loving party. There is no place for criminal elements in MQM. MQM has always supported the operations against criminals. It still supports it. It is our principled stance that criminals elements present in every party should be prosecuted in accordance with the laws. Positive steps should be taken to restore peace in Karachi.
