The founding fathers of this great country set up the framework for the government of this country working together to make this the greatest nation on the planet .Through the decades since then our nation has gone through many changes and conflicts. Yet not only have we survived them we have learned from our mistakes and amended our Constitution. We have seen simple men become some of the greatest politicians, Washington,Lincoln, Roosevelt,Eisenhower,Kennedy ( to name a few ). In our time John Kennedy gave an inauguration speech that changed the landscape of politics in our country.In that speech he said "Ask Not What Your Country Can Do For You,But What You Van Do For Your Country". A speech lost on our present politicians who bicker like little children on a playground,finding it easier to blame the other party than to to work together and find a common ground to solve their differences. As a result for the second time in less than 20 years our government has been shut down. Some of these same politicians were in office back than and do nothing to rally their fellow congressman and senators to avoid this fiasco again. Shame on them and the others for not doing what they were elected to do.They were sent to Washington by the hard working people of this country to represent our best interests,not theirs. It is time to amend our Constitution once again to apply term limits to our Congressman and Senators.Most of them were millionaires before they went Washington and only become wealthier the longer they stay in office. There is no way that a wealthy senator knows how it feels to live paycheck to paycheck or how expensive it is for medical care.They are squabbling about a Healthcare reform that they themselves are exempt from.And weather or not we like Obama Care ( I am not a fan of it) their seemed no other alternative plan.And it was passed into law so it seems a moot point. We will get through this shutdown,we all know this ,but it is time to make the lawmakers ACCOUNTABLE to the people who sent them to Washington.
