The funding for Phase 3 of the San Ysidro reconfiguration project includes resources for the construction of SOUTHBOUND PRIMARY INSPECTION BOOTHS. These were not included in the original project approved by Congress or the first EIS (Environmental Impact Statement) but were later added by the U.S. General Services Administration Pacific Rim Region (GSA) as requested by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This means that CBP will have the capability to implement southbound inspections as needed which over time will be 100% of the time.
