WE ARE FAILING. One story of many: (Odessa TX) Back yard breeder. Over breed boxer female, killed pups that were not saleable, the owner locked (with two pad locks so she could never get food on her own) the female in a wood box with no padding or bedding, (she slept on empty beer bottles) in as low as 20 degree weather. She had two kinds of tick fever, was half her body weight and so sick she was blind. Two people cut her free one night, tried to feed her took video of her. Got her to the vet the next day. People from all over USA called Sheriff Donaldson in Odessa to demand and arrest. We demanded the boxer not go to a county shelter but to Austin Boxer rescues. I fought with him personally for Arizona. He let the rescue take her after five days or more of this fighting, while no one could see the dog. She did not make it. The vet listed several levels of abuse and starvation. The vet said files should be charged to the owner who did this. It was a long slow painful death for her. WE said NO MORE. We posted all the laws that were broken in Texas so they would understand we knew! We asked them to use their laws. WE have stated that abuse is the number one form of a future killer if not stopped. All serial killers stared with animals and then got board and moved on. The case went to the County Attorney Greg Conner 432.498.4150. We requested under the freedom of information act they sent the Vet Records so we can show starvation. They had 10 days legally to respond. Yes they ignored us. They seem to feel in the case of an animal they can overlook doing their job. PEOPLE THIS IS NOT JUST IN ODESSA TEXAS. We must all start to stand as One Voice in the WORLD. Leaders way before of warned us that society will be judged on our treatment of animals and that we must not be scared to be the voice for those who cannot speak. Please find a way to start to work together as a stronger alliance for an urgent calling to stop torture and abuse of animals. If you will join our page to make us stronger.
