The guru shishya relationship is the highest expression of friendship. For it is the only relationship based on unconditional divine love. Guru shows his disciple the way to realize God and leads him slowly towards the goal .The very sight of a real Guru arouses a loving feeling in the disciple for him . Guru gives his disciple a divine inner strength which is like a magnet that draws everything towards himself. Life becomes disciplined and the atmosphere around your Guru also helps in maintaining a life of measure. By constantly being in good company the actions of his disciple gets purified, discriminative power increases and there comes a time when nothing affects the disciple. The “Mantram” given by your Guru becomes the disciple’s best friend and many times it keeps resonating in his mind. The mantram is that thread which connects you to the ‘Paramatma’ .Time spent in Sadhana becomes a very important time in the life of a disciple. Guru helps in teaching the disciple how to attain freedom ,how to stand on his own feet , how to fly like a free bird , cutting all bondages of the mind , senses , and family . The qualities of a Guru 1 Guru has no ulterior selfish motive as he works towards the spiritual well being of society . 2 He does not crave for praise , honor or fame . 3 Guru is unselfish and has no desire for lust or greed . 4 He has no desire for money as it is an impediment to spiritual life 5 His most important quality is his ability to speak the truth at all times. 6 He Practices what he Preaches . 7 Guru is non violent , and has compassion . 8 All spiritual teachers and saints are humble. 9 Guru must have a spiritual lineage and an academic background . Three things are necessary to realize the Lord The first necessity is this rare gift of the Lord which is this human birth ,as humans are the only creation of the Lord who have a discriminative factor and intellect out of the 84 lac creatures. Second , a burning desire for liberation . Third , association with a great soul. Now , by grace of the Lord you have all three and this is the best chance to liberate yourself . FAITH , FAITH , FAITH ! have faith in the words of your GURU , follow his instructions and you will achieve everything.Spiritual knowledge can be acquired only with ‘SHRADDHA’for your Guru .Shraddha is a Sanskrit word which means respect , implicit faith , trust and self confidence.Besides having the greatest respect for your Guru you also must have implicit faith and trust in your Guru .You must have the confidence that only with the help of your Guru you can get liberated from the cycle of births and death. For every man who retraces his steps to the Lord , there is a great celebration among the angels as they actually appear and receive that returning soul in great joy .The Hindu Scriptures say ‘As soon as you feel the desire for the Lord , immediately change your life and plunge into him. My dear brothers and sisters from this ‘GURU’ parivar , we all are indeed very fortunate to have pujya GURUDEV as our inspiration motivation , air that we breathe , who gives to each and everyone who comes to him . Let us all serve his cause of working for ‘SANATANA DHARMA’ which is the ‘ETERNAL LAW’
