The inaugural LATROBE LILIUM SHOW will be held in the Latrobe - TopicsExpress

The inaugural LATROBE LILIUM SHOW will be held in the Latrobe Memorial Hall, Gilbert Street, Latrobe on 24-25 January. The show will be open from 1.00 pm until 5.00 pm on Saturday and 9.00 am until 4.00 pm on Sunday. Mr Neil Jordan of the North-West Tasmanian Lilium Society Inc advises that the move to Latrobe last year resulted from the need to access larger premises. “Our former premises were also not easy to locate. The move to the Latrobe Memorial Hall is allowing the group to pursue additional opportunities”, said Mr Jordan. An International Floral Art Judge has been secured for the Latrobe Lilium Show and there will also be demonstrations in floral art, hybridising and seed growing throughout the weekend. Along with flowers on display, there will be potted bulbs and seed for sale and an exhibition featuring floral art by Rhyllis Chambers. At the conclusion of the show, an auction of flowers will be held. “A key part of the competition is the condition of the liliums, so buyers can be assured of excellent quality,” added Mr Jordan. Following this event, the Society will host a Lilium Bulb Sale on 7 June in Latrobe. For more information about the North-West Tasmanian Lilium Society Inc, please contact Mr Jordan on 6435 1298.
