The internet has been awash with the screaming headline - Abia stinks credited to Prince Arthur Eze. I have out reached out to Prince Arthur Ezes camp and I am back here to share what I learnt. Prince Arthur Eze was among notable dignitaries that attended the 23rd anniversary celebration of Abia State. As he travelled by road to Umuahia from Enugu, he observed that the Okigwe-Umuahia express road was in a terrible state. When it was his turn to speak at the event, Prince Arthur shared his his experience on the road and also made reference to the filth along the above mentioned federal highway. He urged Governor Theodore Orji to reach out to the Federal Government / FEMA for assistance. I also learnt that upon arrival at the Government House in Umuahia, Prince Arthur Eze expressed surprise that the old same lodge which he visited during the Ogbonnaya Onu administration was still in use. He praised Governor Theodore Orji for embarking on a befitting building project for the Abia state government house and thanked him for his vision. Following the poor statement attributed to him in the national daily, I was reliably informed that Prince Arthur Eze has been quite unhappy that his words at the ceremony were misconstrued to launch an attack on the person of Governor Theodore Orji. For those who have followed the recent media war between Chief Orji Uzor Kalu and his successor, Governor Theodore Orji, this episode will not come as a surprise. Lets hope that both parties will sheath their swords and work towards rebuilding Abia . Joi John
