The kids and I have made it home from another weekend with my mom. My brother and I completed her deck project, save for a few small details. The original deck that my dad had built when they built the house in the late 70s had been torn off a few years ago because it had began to show its age. As things go, the intentions to put a new deck on got derailed by life and it just was one of those things wed look at from time to time and say, We need to get that done for mom. Well, now its finally done and I cant be happier with the results...and no, Im not going into the deck building business! On another note, while we were in Boonville, McKayla got to participate and ride with her cousin Kyra on her 4H groups wagon for the Boonville Christmas Parade. Jake didnt want to go and stayed with me while I worked on the deck. And, of course, the kids love mucking around in the mud and manure around the barn with the horses, goats, and chickens. Nothin better for kids than to mess around on the farm. I see my wife is having a good time down at her parents place doing their holiday baking...that means goodies headed this way shortly... :)
