The kindness of God leads you to repentance. Judgement often hardens a sinners heart and makes him obstinate but Gods goodnees and mercy is suited to soften the sinners heart. God bears with man from childhood to youth; from youth to manhood; from manhood to old age; often while he violates every law, contemn His mercy; profane His name, and still, in spite of all this, His anger is turned away and the sinner lives on and riots in the benefience of God. If there is anything that can affect mans heart, it is Gods patience and constant goodness and mercy towards man time after time while he lives in rebellion. Once this Love is recognized and contemplated, the sinner becomes overwhelmed by the Love of God and seek forgiveness.
