The last 24 hours has been such a rollercoaster of emotions. Some how I was able to make a google hangout featuring these amazing, fearless, humanitarians to discuss women of color in tech: Elen Awalom Ana Díaz-Hernández Morgan DeBaun Vanessa Mason Bianca St.Louis. Without even knowing their power, they refueled my soul. Before this call I was crying - feeling a bit discouraged about another conversation I had with a relative regarding the state of Ferguson. Before this call I reached out to Van Jones to ask him to connect me with a women of color mentor to help me as I journey through life as a tech activist ----- todays call is a great reminder of why we need to uplift community that look like us, who walks (or have walked) through similar paths, a community of members that are in different stages of life but share similar goals. We are all on a path of building justice, equality and opportunities for all. We are using technology to do it. And we are all women of color. I salute you.
