The latest attempts by the so-called Human Rights Commission of Pakistan to campaign against the death penalty for terrorists should really raise some eyebrows about the motives of this group. This human rights group is an absolute farce and are not in the interest of any human rights (at least for any Pakistani that is). When you have somebody like Asma Jehanghir at the helm (and its founder) then that should explain everything. HRCP is made up a large number of left wing extremists and self proclaimed rights activists who employ massive double standards. For example: 1. HRCP claims to defend and fight for Womens Rights, yet were silent when Mullah Diesal insulted women protesting in the dharnas across the country during a session in Parliament. Apparently women who are fighting for democracy are not of any concern to the HRCP. 2. HRCP claims to be against police brutality, yet were once again silent when Punjab Police opened fire on protestors in Lahore. Should we really be surprised? 3. HRCP claims to be against terrorism, yet remains silent at the terrorism committed by the BLA terrorist group in Balochistan. They kidnap doctors, teachers, engineers and kill them in some cases yet HRCP thinks thats perfectly. Why the double standards? Terrorism is terrorism, regardless if its committed by religious extremists like the TTP or racist-power hungry sardars like the BLA. 4. HRCP claims to defend human rights yet are silent at the illegal drones which keep firing into FATA. Apparently its okay when an entire villages are obliterated - while ground military operations by Pakistan Army are ALWAYS better, drones are actually helping the TTP grow since they are highly inaccurate and often cause massive collateral damage, allowing TTP to recruit survivours and family members of the deceased to fight back in the name of revenge. In my opinion, a serious and thorough investigation should be placed on the HRCP about who exactly is funding them and what motives they have, because its quite clear from these double standards that HRCP doesnt give a hoot about human rights...at least not Pakistani human rights.
