The locals continue to rack up great results around Victoria, Cam Templeton kicked off the week for the locals with Really Perrrfect running third in the BM64 over 1107mt at Kilmore. Really Perrfect jumped well and was traveled in third place in running and while unable to haul in the leader, Really Perrfect kept chasing hard down the straight to grab third placing and another win should not be to far away. On Saturday at Great Western the Ricardo Meunier trained Sprewell continued his great form by easily winning the 1210mt maiden taking Sprewell record to 1 win, 3 seconds, 2 thirds and over $50,000 in prize money from only 7 life time starts, we would all like to have a Sprewell in the back yard. Over at Yea Picnics on Saturday Kim and Gayle Mayberry took home second place with Gungnir in the 2100 maiden and Bertoglio trained by Sharon Cunningham continued his honest form to collect another cheque finishing third in the 1200mt Open Trophy Race. At the Balnarring Picnics on Sunday the Peter Cook trained Keltic Light took home second prize in the 1600mt Maiden Plate and Argentinian Storm put in another good run to take home second prize in the trophy 1 over 1600mt to add to his very good record since crossing the tasman. Dianne Clover wrapped up the day at Balnarring with Go Warrior winning the the 1050mt open trophy race in good style and Vertigo took home third place in the 1200mt open trophy race. To wrap up another great week for local trainers, Ray Cross took his good gelding Egos Better to Werribbee on Sunday and they got the chocolates with Egos Better delivering an amazing finishing burst to win the 0-64 over 2030mt. Egos better settled back near the tail of the field in running and around the final turn was in last place and looked to far back to have a winning chance and when the Jockey hooked Egos Better out 9 wide on straightening, we were all ripping up our betting tickets, However no one had told Egos Better that you dont win from that position and he unleashed a powerful burst speed to run past the entire field to win easy taking his record to 5wins, 1second, 3thirds and over $49,000 in prize money from 20 life time starts.
