The longer a politician is entrenched, the more they can build their social network, a network of cronies. These networks that are built are abused, you end up with vote swapping or collusion. These cronies are then able to justify Corporate campaign contributions (bribery) amongst themselves. Also, it makes it easier to justify earmarks (another form of fraud) amongst the cronies. When you see gerrymandering take place, you can bet your bottom dollar someone has bucked the system. Thus, entrenched politicians, cast into just 2 major political parties, are in perfect position to completely steal the power that should be in the hands of We the People.......and place it in the hands of the Corporate Facists that have taken over our government. These are not the practices our Founding Fathers envisioned for a "more perfect Union".
