“The lord…hears the prayer of the righteous (that’s us).” Proverbs 15:29. Because of the price Jesus paid on the cross for our sins, we ARE the “righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.” It doesn’t seem that long ago when I believed I wasn’t as spiritual as someone who was righteous. I felt in my heart it was place of achievement, an upper level of Christianity and “if” I would try harder to be a good Christian, then maybe, just maybe God would see me as righteous and my prayers would be answered. It’s just like the devil to try and convince us that we’re not good enough for God’s standards and we should try harder. This defeated mentality of performance causes many Christians to throw their hands up in the air and walk away from their church and their faith. Friends, we must read God’s Word and understand that we were bought with a price that Jesus paid for on the cross. If we have been set free, why would we want to go back and put the chains of bondage back on? Bottom line: We ARE righteous! Our Heavenly Father loves us and we ARE His children. His love is unconditional. And he hears our every prayer! “The prayer of a righteous man is POWERFUL and effective.” James 5:16. Amen! This scripture is talking about OUR prayers! Powerful and effective! When we pray, we must believe in our hearts that God hears every prayer we pray. He listens and will answer. “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask ANYTHING according to His will, He hears us. And “if” we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we KNOW that we have what we asked of Him.” 1 John 5:14-15. Let’s erase the old “I don’t deserve” mentality and realize who we really are, righteous children of God! “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayers.” 1 Peter 3:12. Thank you Jesus for paying for my sins on the cross……….I’m free…. I’m righteous….. I’m God’s child…….
