The media often states the service economy will replace our manufacturing jobs when our factories are sent overseas, but this is false on multiple levels. Service jobs are necessary, but they cannot replace manufacturing jobs lost in volume, quality, or pay. Most service jobs created today are in sectors like in restaurants or retail that simply do not pay anywhere near enough to raise a family. Even good paying service jobs, like engineering, can be outsourced to other nations. A renewed focus on USA manufacturing is the only way to heal our economy. To get there, we need to buy Made in USA whenever possible!
